A FAMILY BUSINESS WITH EMPHASIS ON QUALITY

The family business was founded in 1947 by F. (Ted) Cobb at Wheathampstead. In 1971, it was taken over by his son John who has since been joined by both his own sons John, and James. With three generations of the family now involved with the construction and surfacing of roads, car parks and driveways, we offer sound advice which has been gained over the last 60 years. We still maintain the same high standards and meticulous attention to detail which has enabled us to gain an enviable and well-respected reputation in the industry.

All our employees have many years of experience in the industry, gained mostly with us and all are directly employed by the company. Everyone is affiliated to the Construction Skills Certification Scheme in their relevant trade.

The company is also an approved contractor of various local councils.

All of our vehicles and equipment are wholly owned by the company and maintained to the highest standards in our own workshops. John Cobb & Sons Ltd operates from a large two acre site situated in Cambridgeshire close to the Hertfordshire/Essex borders which enables us to reach Hertfordshire, Beds, Bucks and East Anglia with ease.

The company employs a health and safety adviser. With all staff employed full-time, and possessing the necessary CSCS certifications, we ensure we maintain and better the necessary requirements required in our industry.

We also sell a selection of various building materials from our premises, including road planings, hardcore, gravels, aggregates and various reclaimed bricks and block paving.
